Diversity of all kinds has been core to Booking.com’s culture since the company was founded in 1996, and as part of a continued effort to make our company one of the most diverse and gender-balanced tech companies in the world, we are committed to diversity inside and outside the walls of Booking.com. Our workforce is truly global, it consists of 150 different nationalities, and more than half is made up by women. And around 20% of our technology focussed team are women. But we know that the bar doesn’t stop here.

Women in Tech Event Sponsorship

In 2017, we sponsored the Women in Tech Lounge & Mentorship Programme at Web Summit; and in 2018 we will continue to do so with global partnerships at Collision, RISE and Web Summit 2018.

Technology Playmaker Awards

In March 2018, we held our inaugural Technology Playmaker Awards in London, where we recognised and celebrated women who are making an incredible impact in technology every day.

Women in Tech Scholarships

Working in partnership with the University of Oxford in the UK, and the Delft University of Technology (TU Delft) in the Netherlands, 15 scholarships will be granted to women looking to further their education and advancement in the technology sector. The grants will equal €500,000 across both university partnerships.

Internal Initiatives

In 2017, employees in the tech department nominated and recognised internal technology playmakers – employees who have either been a role model, or are active in driving diversity within the workplace. Read about one of our ambassadors Lucie de Nooij. We also recently launched an internal mentorship programme, focused on accelerating the development of women employees- developers, designers, data scientists and team leaders – in growing their technical and/or leadership career.

We’re a technology company with a love for travel at our core, and we’re growing! Join us in our beautiful Amsterdam headquarters, our bustling Chinese product hub in Shanghai, our AI hub in Tel Aviv, or our core infra team in Seattle. And did we mention, relocating is easy as A, B, C!
