As a Senior PR Manager, you are part of the global PR/Communications team and report directly into the Global Director Public Relations and Public Affairs who is based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. You will also work closely together with the Managing Director of APAC. The main aim of our PR team is to be an ambassador for the Booking.com brand and to ensure that the PR/Communication strategies support Booking.com BV’s future growth plans and activities.The ideal candidate should be ready to hit the ground running in our fast-paced environment and be creative and driven, with strong interpersonal skills that allow you to proactively support Booking.com BV in developing and maintaining regional PR strategies and relations. Key responsibilities:
  • Support Booking.com BV in determining and implementing PR strategies for China;
  • Identify and execute new, integrated PR opportunities to help increase regional brand awareness;
  • Propose local stories and creative PR-campaigns aligned to Booking.com BV’s strategic focus;
  • Build and maintain relationships with local media and conduct ongoing (social and traditional) media relations;
  • Be the first point of contact for local press;
  • Manage local PR agencies and monitor budgets;
  • Monitor and analyze traditional  and social media coverage about Booking.com (or relevant other news) and help determining appropriate action to be taken.
Requirements:
  • Minimum 6 - 8 years of PR/Corporate communications experience in an international (online) organization;
  • BA/BS degree required;
  • Excitement for new technologies and emerging trends;
  • Proven experience in relation to strategic PR plans and executing tactical campaigns to generate relevant coverage;
  • Creative, positive, and high-energy individual with hands-on mentality;
  • Excellent creative writing and verbal communication skills in English;
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple demanding projects in a fast paced, constantly changing environment;
  • Strong understanding of how to support the business requirements and act as a trusted  PR-advisor to senior management in the region;
  • A proven history of building a network of media contacts in China.
