Booking.com BV is looking for a Global Software Procurement Lead to join our Global Technology Procurement Team based in our headquarters in Amsterdam, the Netherlands.

In your role you will be responsible for the development and execution of the IT Software category plan, working with stakeholders to prioritise, execute and drive value for Booking.com within the Software category. The Global Software Procurement Lead will report into and work alongside the Senior Procurement and Contract Mgt Manager to establish a centralised procurement function with an emphasis on software procurement where they will be responsible for leading contractual and commercial negotiations with third party software vendors.

 

Tasks and responsibilities:

  • As part of the Procurement leadership team, establish a value add centralised function in line with Bookings strategic directions
  • Manage and develop the newly formed team responsible for the software procurement track
  • Lead and manage the overall Software Procurement activity across Booking.com including tendering and vendor management
  • Owns business and internal relationships for vendor and commercial management across the Booking’s Strategic (Enterprise) software providers, ensuring all stakeholders are aligned
  • Leads commercial discussions on new software products and expansion of strategic software products & programs
  • Single point of contact for all issues regarding software vendor performance including the management of this performance, third party risks, business controls, reviews, renewals and strategic sourcing for all software providers
  • In conjunction with IT stakeholders and business stakeholders – evaluate software providers for fit with Booking.com requirements
  • Negotiates key business terms with software providers in line with Booking requirements, ensuring all internal stakeholders are involved
  • In conjunction with IT Services, provide procurement and commercial direction in to the Software Asset Management team
  • Leads and oversees engagements on all software vendor audits globally, working with local stakeholders as appropriate to manage financial exposure, contractual obligations to reduce risk and to ensure corrective actions are taken when identified
  • Ensure all contractual and working relationships are inline with all compliance obligations

 

Requirements

  • 7-10 years of software vendor management experience, particularly with Microsoft, Google and bespoke App software providers
  • Knowledge / Experience in managing a global Enterprise Software programs across multiple vendors
  • Knowledge with software licensing agreements, both SAAS and on premise
  • Experience with managing and developing a team
  • Experience working with global stakeholders across multiple business areas
  • Knowledge / Experience in managing a global Enterprise Software programs across multiple vendors
  • Knowledge with software licensing agreements, both SAAS and on premise
  • Excellent and timely verbal and written communication skills required as well as demonstrated ability to present to Executive Management
  • Strong negotiation skills required
  • Ability to work autonomously with minimal direction
  • Comfortable with making business decisions independently
